Guadalupe Island is located 200 miles southwest of Ensenada, Mexico on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula. It is a rugged volcanic island, 25 miles long and the highest point is 4200 ft.. The 5-night Guadalupe itinerary provides an adventure to shark seekers who enter surface or submersible cages to experience seeing great whites up close and personal.

Description

Guests are picked up from the Holiday Inn Express Old Town Hotel (Airport), San Diego, California  at 7 am; from the Hotel Palacio Azteca in Tijuana, Mexico  at 8 am or the Ensenada, Mexico International Terminal at 11 am then boarding.

The Socorro Aggressors anchorage is in a sheltered bay near Guadalupe Island where the cage diving shark encounter action will take place in clear blue water. The yacht stays here for almost 4 full days where guests will rotate entering the cages every hour while seeing several sharks during each dive. On the departure date, guests disembark and are transferred to the Ensenada International Terminal for arrival at 12 pm, to the Tijuana, Mexico Airport (TIJ) at 6 pm and to the San Diego, California Airport (SAN) at 8 pm. Note all times depend on border clearance.

  • All dives are from cages attached to the yacht and use a surface supplied air source or hookah.
  • 2 surface cages:  4 guests rotate in and out every 45 minutes.   
  • 1 submersible cage: 4 guests rotates in and out every 30 minutes.
  • Equipment needed is a mask, booties, gloves, hood and a 5-7 mm wetsuit.
  • The average water temperature is 69°F, 21°C.

Guadalupe Travel Information

Getting There, Passport & Visa Documentation

Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket. US citizens require a passport that must be valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the travelers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper visa to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.
 
If you are not a Mexican citizen you are required to have a valid passport. All guests must complete the passport section of the Aggressor Adventures online GIS (Guest Information System) no later than 10 days prior to the departure date to be cleared on the travel manifest by the Mexican authorities. Upon your arrival at the Tijuana border, you will need to complete a tourist visa, or FMT form ($25) which will be stamped by immigration officials and a copy has to be filed for each guest boarding the yacht.

Arrival / Boarding / Departure

Guests will arrive the day before the charter start date and its recommended to overnight at either one of the host hotels listed below. The following morning, the charter start date, guests will be met and transferred to the Socorro Aggressor in Ensenada, Mexico. For guests who are wanting the transfer but staying at another hotel, you will need to make your own way to meet in the lobby for the transfer. All guests who are taking the transfer must make a reservation with your agent or Aggressor Adventures for the transfer.

Upon arrival in Ensenada, Mexico at 11:30 am, guests will board at 12 pm. Once everyone is settled, the yacht will depart to Guadalupe Island. If you are making your own way to the Socorro Aggressor, the yacht is docked at: Cruise Port Marina in Ensenada, Blvd.Tte. José Azueta No. 224, Int Recinto Portuario, C.P. 22800, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. 

At the end of the charter, the yacht arrives back to the same dock. Disembark at 12 noon, departure Ensenada, Tijuana, then San Diego International Airport. It is highly recommended you take a late flight that evening since the waiting time to cross the border depends on traffic and can vary. 

Local Fees/Taxes

National Park Fee plus Dock Fee are paid in cash only onboard the yacht

5 night itinerary – USD $350 pp (Park and dock fees)
Starting April 1, 2022 a USD $200 pp fuel surcharge.

There is a 16% IVA tax added to all onboard purchases. The Socorro Aggressor accepts Visa, MasterCard, US dollars, Mexican Pesos and Euros.  (Sorry, no personal checks.)   A 3% surcharge is added for credit card payments. The yacht does not accept personal checks or travelers’ checks.
