The BVI are a British overseas territory comprised of four large islands – Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada and 50 smaller islands and cays. The wreck of the Rhone, one of the world’s best shipwreck dives, is a highlight of the trip along with beautiful coral gardens, seamounts, canyons and sandy bottoms.

Description

The BVI Aggressor guests will embark and disembark from the host property, Village Cay Hotel & Marina in Road Town, Tortola.  Throughout the week you may dive several areas of British Virgin Islands, mainly on the outer islands consisting of Norman, Peter, Salt, Cooper and Virgin Gorda. The itinerary is completely dependent on the winds and weather.

  • Diving begins Sunday morning and ends Friday around noon when the Aggressor returns to port.
  • Average of up to 27 dives on 7 night charters (multiple day dives and a night dive each evening)
  • All dives are from two large custom built 25 ft. dive tenders.
  • 1 – 3 mm wetsuit recommended
  • Water temperature range from 76 – 84F, 25 – 28C. 

The BVI Aggressor has (2) 25 ft long Highfield Patrol 760 custom dive tenders  each outfitted with a  300 hp Suzuki motor,  custom tank racks and custom built ladders for easy exit.

Getting There, Passports & Visa Documentation

The British Virgin Islands’ international airport (EIS), officially the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (also known as Beef Island airport), is located on Beef Island, which connects to Tortola via the Queen Elizabeth II bridge.
 
Important Information to Know Prior to Booking Your Air Arrangements:

  • Arrive 1 – 2 days early to enjoy the beautiful island of Tortola
  • Travel through San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU); most major airlines have direct flights; jetBlue, Southwest Airlines, Azul Airlines, American Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Frontier Airlines, United, Delta
  • Book your airline ticket sooner rather than later (flights into Tortola fill up quickly)
  • Be aware of logistical issues if you plan to take a ferry to Roadtown, Tortola where the yacht departs from; added costs, departure times not dependable, overbooking etc.
  • Guests must be onboard Saturday by 7 pm.

Visitors must have a current passport, adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket to travel to Tortola, BVI. Travelers must have a passport that is valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have the proper documentation to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Please check with the appropriate consulate to ensure you have the proper documentation. Always check your passport and visa requirements. US citizens may go to the US Department of State website at www.travel.state.gov for more information. The website also has information for consulates by country to assist with requirements. There are special requirements for children leaving the US and many countries have adopted requirements for the protection of children. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.

Arrival / Boarding / Departure for British Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands’ international airport (EIS), officially the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (also known as Beef Island airport), is located on Beef Island, which connects to Tortola via the Queen Elizabeth II bridge. Guests arriving on Saturday from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm are greeted at the airport by a BVI Aggressor representative who will assist you with your luggage and getting a taxi at the dispatch station. He/she will be wearing a BVI Aggressor shirt and will have the guests name on a sign. If guests are unable to locate the representative, they are to go to the taxi dispatch stand (right when you walk out of customs/immigration) and call the local boat cell number.  

BVI taxi regulations only allow tourists to be picked up from the airport by registered taxis. It is approximately 30 minutes from the airport to where the yacht is docked at the Village Cay Hotel & Marina in Road Town, Tortola.  Taxi rates are published and should be $36 for 1 passenger, $18 each if 2 passengers, and $15 each if 3 or more passengers (rates are subject to change). If you are already in Tortola, please make your own way to the BVI Aggressor between 4 – 5 pm on Saturday. Passengers arriving by air on Saturday need to be onboard the yacht by 7 pm. Airport transfers are not included in the cost of your charter. At the end of the charter, the Captain will assist with organizing transportation to the airport or hotel if you are extending your stay. 

Local Fees/Taxes

A port fee of $95 pp (7 nts) or  $135 pp (10 nts) and a fuel surcharge of $150 pp will be collected at the end of the week.
