The wreck diving specialty is a training that takes place over 2 days of diving. It is a course that offers adventure while learning responsible diving practices on wrecks.
If you are 15 years old and certified as a PADI Adventure Diver or higher, you can enroll in the wreck diving specialty course.
What will you learn?
There are many different types of wrecks, some of which are protected by law for their historical and cultural significance. In this course you will learn the rules for the investigation and respect of shipwrecks:
- Safety considerations for navigation and wreck exploration.
- Topography and cartography of a shipwreck.
- Use of penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.
- Techniques to avoid lifting silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.
You will take the PADI Wreck Diver manual to prepare the theory and the day before starting the dives you will have a lesson with your instructor for discussing the knowledge reviews and planning the 2 wrecks that you will visit during the open water dives.
