Description

Prolight is the successor to the mythical Frog model from which it inherits its fundamental characteristic that extends the blade over the foot pocket, but applying new materials and an improved design. The result is a fin of medium dimensions, with surprising reactivity and great propulsive performance. The lightness and balance of the materials, together with a very modern design, make Prolight a generous fin, which provides exuberant performance with excellent wear. limited physique. Very versatile, it is ideal for both the novice and professional diver or instructors and technical divers.

The blade is born directly from the upper part of the foot pocket, joining the fin to the foot and transmitting all the effort generated when flapping without losing energy through the soft areas. This format allows the water to be channeled from the very ankle to the final edge of the blade, unlike traditional models, in which the foot pocket does not have any contribution on the advance. In addition to improving the directionality of the flapping, this design provides benefits between 10% and 15% higher than those that would correspond to the fin due to its blade surface. The combination of 3 different materials guarantees the optimization of the requirements of each fin area:

Polypropylene main body: this material, inherited from freediving fins, has as its main characteristic the very fast transmission of the applied energy and its great structural rigidity. It is applied to the upper and inner area of the sole sandwich. It is very nervous and reactive and facilitates a very agile and effective wingbeat. It has a clearly higher effort-performance ratio than traditional materials (natural or thermoplastic rubber, polyurethane, EVA). It also has great resistance to breakage to the point that Cressi guarantees it for life for sports use.
Flexible elastomer: it is applied to the foot pocket and the areas that require flexibility and elasticity, since they influence the comfort of the diver: toe of the foot pocket, interior of the sole and area of the instep in contact with the ankle. The fusion of both materials is carried out at the molecular level and its strength is guaranteed for life for sports use.
Longitudinal section “spina di pesce”: this concept, inherited from freediving fins, implies that the blade has a decreasing thickness as it approaches the tip. In this way, the recovery of the bow, which the flapping induces in the fin, causes a “whiplash” effect when the blade recovers. In addition, it makes the flexing of the fin much more progressive, improving the directionality of the flapping. Foot pocket in three different volumes, with a narrowed central area so that the foot remains firmly fixed inside and the transmission of the foot/foot pocket/blade effort is direct and precise.
Prolight is an excellent combination between:

Power: thanks to its quite rigid longitudinal composition.
Speed: thanks to the performance of polypropylene.
Use of effort: thanks to its materials and the profile of decreasing thickness
Manageability: given its moderate length.
